The tawny owl is widespread in European woodlands, parks, and urban areas, as well as living in North Africa, North Asia, and Western Asia. The tawny owl tends to live in the same area throughout its lifetime and is very territorial. This almost entirely nocturnal breed hunts by perching and swooping down on their prey, comprised of small mammals, birds, frogs, fish, and insects.
