Bird in the Hand, Samson

The great gray owl resides in dense conifer forests in northwestern parts of North America. Since humans have endangered their habitats, they nest and roost in very remote areas. The great gray owl is considered the largest owl in North America with a wingspan up to five feet. It’s thick, fluffy plumage masks its small body size, weighing only two to three pounds overall.
